When a lot of us hear the words fashion or style trends, we automatically think about Fashion Week, celebrities or fashion designers. Don’t get me wrong, these are all great resources to find out what the currents trends/hottest looks are. You do not need spend thousands of dollars in order to dress like you belong at Fashion Week, but you will need to know where and how to shop to get the most out of your money.

Here are a few tips to remember when you are shopping for trendy clothes on a budget.

  1. Look For Versatile Pieces. Find a pair of bottoms that will look great with multiple tops and that will give off various vibes when paired with different accessories and tops.
  2. Shop The Sale. This one can be hard because buying clothes on sale is tempting. Sales usually happen when the season is coming to an end and the store needs to make room for the next season’s inventory. This means that most of the clothes are going to be last season. If you are going to be shopping a sale, try to find pieces that you know are also on trend for the upcoming season. This way you can get the most out of the item.
  3. High-Low Fashion– This is when you pair a higher end piece with something that is more affordable. This is a great way to get more bang for your buck. Think of the higher end items as an investment, and spend a little less on the trending pieces that could be out of style in a few seasons. There is an entire post about this HERE.
  4. Look For Inspo– Follow fashion week, check out Vogue, and watch what the celebrities are wearing. You can find affordable styles that are very similar to what you see in magazines. You just need to know where is the best place to find these!
