My work week is almost over. I am so ready for this long weekend. We are not going to have much free time between my sisters baby being born (well we are thinking it will be) and Jason’s family reunion. Do you have any fun plans for the 4th of July?

Last week I was attending an event at the Luxury Garage Sale store in Edina and I fell head over heels for these vintage Chanel earrings. They are so classy and yet they have the perfect amount of Taylorness to them. They have been the inspiration behind this post.

You guys need to try shopping for gently used designer pieces. This is such a great way to get luxury pieces for a pretty fair price. Don’t get me wrong, they are still expensive, but are a much better deal then buying them new.

Shopping for gently used luxury pieces can be intimidating, but if you have the right tools……..you will be a pro in no time.

  1. Research, research, RESEARCH– This is probably the most important thing you can do. No matter where you buy your piece, make sure you have checked out the source thoroughly. It is also super important that you research the actually piece you found and make sure that it is in fact real and not a knock off. With that being said, be SUPER careful about buying from eBay or Amazon.
  2. Quality– Check to ensure that the piece you found (online or in-store) is actually in good shape. Ask questions about it and examine it throughly. Some pieces online may look like they are in mint condition until they arrive at your house in a wrinkled mess.
  3. Leave it to the Professionals- When in doubt, work with a company that you trust and that specializes in finding awesome consignment pieces. They know what they are doing and will be your best resource. I personally love shopping with Luxury Garage Sale.

If you are new to shopping for consignment designer pieces (like I was) start by buying something small and make sure that this is something for you. You don’t want to order a vintage fur coat that you spent an arm and a leg on and realize you hate the fact that someone else was wearing it. Hopefully these tips made you feel a little more prepared. Now, go and explore your #chardonnaystyle.

Cheers,

Taylor

P.S. This is not a sponsored post and it is 100% my own ideas and own opinions. I am just totally obsessed with these vintage Chanel earrings and wanted to share these tips with you.
